Mark Merrell focuses his practice upon the representation of private landowners in condemnation proceedings across the State of Texas.  Prior to joining McFarland PLLC, Mark practiced with the Eminent Domain and Land Use Litigation group at Andrews Kurth, LLP where he represented both landowners and condemning authorities in eminent domain litigation.  He has significant trial and appellate experience, including an appearance before the Texas Supreme Court, and is licensed to practice before all Texas state courts.

Mark calls upon his experience representing condemnors to benefit his landowner clients and defend their property rights when their private property is acquired for a public use.  To put his clients at ease and provide an understanding of the issues, Mark analyzes each individual case and crafts a gameplan to address problems, minimize impacts, and maximize compensation.

A graduate of the University of Chicago School of Law and an honors graduate of Texas A & M University, Mark considers it a great privilege to practice law and defend his clients’ constitutionally-protected property rights.  A passionate advocate on behalf of his clients’ interests, Mark strives to obtain positive results with the utmost integrity.

"We aspire to add value to our clients at every stage of the process; whether that means evaluating a case the moment we meet the landowner, handling highly contested matters, advising on settlement or advocating during trial.”
