Dan is the partner in charge of McFarland’s Dallas office. He has dedicated his entire career to representing real-estate stakeholders. Before joining McFarland, Dan worked at a full-service law firm across a variety of practice areas, such as eminent domain, commercial leasing, construction, commercial lending, and outdoor advertising. He worked with clients from dirt to disposition, through contract negotiation to courtroom advocacy. Dan combines his experience as a real estate lawyer with McFarland’s singular focus on eminent domain to put his clients in the best position possible for the best possible result during the condemnation process. At McFarland, Dan’s recent successful results include a favorable jury verdict in Bastrop County, a favorable jury verdict in Tarrant County, a judgment over $2,300,000 for a convenience store owner that received an approximately $200,000 offer, securing an over $1,500,000 increase in compensation for a nationwide developer with property mid-development impacted by a utility easement, and nationwide representation of a Texas-based real estate investment trust.
 
Dan has been continuously selected by his peers for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers and D Magazine Best Lawyers in Dallas for his expertise in the areas of Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law. Dan is an Affiliate Member of Owners’ Counsel of America, the nation’s preeminent association of eminent domain attorneys devoted to the representation of landowners, and is member of the Urban Land Institute. Dan is a speaker on the condemnation and eminent domain Law, having recently presented to the International Right of Way Association, North Texas Chapter on difficult compensation questions and teaching a continuing education webinar on Utility Easements and Rights of Way. Dan is an honors graduate of both Southern Methodist University School of Law and the University of Buffalo.
