McFarland Welcomes Attorney Clarissa Levingston

HOUSTON – Aug. 1, 2023 – McFarland PLLC announces the addition of Clarissa Levingston to the team as a condemnation attorney in the firm’s Houston office.

Levingston joins McFarland with experience gained as an associate with a general litigation firm. She also served as a law clerk for Chief Judge L. Scott Coogler of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, where she was responsible for Social Security appeals, Section 2255 petitions, miscellaneous post-conviction criminal motions, and select civil cases. While in law school, Levingston was admitted to the Order of the Coif, an honorary scholastic society with a mission to encourage excellence in legal education, worked as a Senior Editor on the Alabama Law Review, and served as president of the Public Interest Student Board. Levingston also handled cases under professor supervision as part of Alabama’s Criminal Defense Clinic and assisted professors in conducting research and preparing course work for first-year legal writing students.

Levingston is admitted to practice in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Alabama School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Austin College.

She will focus on the firm’s sole practice area, eminent domain and condemnation litigation on behalf of Texas landowners.
