Eight McFarland Lawyers Recognized on 2026 Texas Super Lawyers List

Once again, nearly the entire team at McFarland PLLC has been included on the 2026 Texas Super Lawyers list — all recognized for their work in the firm’s sole area of practice, Eminent Domain. The firm also earned a place on the publisher’s newly-introduced Texas “Top Firms by Practice Areas” ranking, which highlights firms with five or more recognized lawyers in the same practice area, for its work in Eminent Domain.

Partners recognized on the 2026 Texas Super Lawyers list include: Billy Coe Dyer and Charles McFarland, both marking 15 years on the listing; Dan Tobin, who is listed for a fourth year; and Marie Harlan, Laura Manion, and Mark Merrell, who all make return appearances. McFarland is also honored among the Top 100 Texas Super Lawyers and Top 100 Houston Super Lawyers. Attorneys Tom Cooke and Nick Victor both made their inaugural appearances on the 2026 Texas Rising Stars list.

“This recognition highlights our team’s focused approach to condemnation law — and only condemnation law. This concentration gives our lawyers the opportunity to stand out,” said McFarland. “They are smart, and they work hard. When you combine their talents and legal acumen with the insight gained from handling hundreds of condemnation cases and the public projects that gave rise to them, this is the natural result. We appreciate this vote of confidence from the legal community, but it’s our landowner clients that really benefit from the power of our focus in achieving the best possible outcomes.”

About Super Lawyers

Across the nation, Super Lawyers recognizes top attorneys in more than 70 practice areas that have “attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.” In Texas, the top five percent are showcased on the “Texas Super Lawyers” list and the top 2.5 percent of eligible attorneys in the state are included on the “Texas Rising Stars” list. Both features are compiled through Super Lawyers’ patented, multiphase process that incorporates a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation and peer reviews by practice area.
