Standing Up For Landowners. Standing Up To Government.

Five McFarland PLLC Attorneys Named to 2024 Texas Super Lawyers

McFarland PLLC announces that five of its condemnation attorneys—Billy Coe Dyer, Laura Manion, Charles McFarland, Mark Merrell, and Dan Tobin—have been selected for inclusion in the 2024 Texas Super Lawyers list in the firm’s sole area of practice, Eminent Domain. This is Manion’s and Merrell’s first appearance on the list and Tobin’s second. Dyer and McFarland have been included 13 times each. Additionally, McFarland is listed in the Top 100 of Houston Super Lawyers for the fifth straight year.

“Eminent domain is a specialized area of the law,” said McFarland. “It’s not a practice that can be tacked on to a broader litigation or real estate practice, even though it has elements of both. Without a significant volume of cases, you will never have the immersion necessary to provide top-tier representation to landowners facing the taking or damaging of their property. By limiting our focus exclusively to these kinds of cases, our lawyers see lots of acquisitions of properties and impacts to properties from public projects, all of which better positions them to achieve the best possible outcome for our landowner clients in their individual cases. This recognition of five of the firm’s partners is the natural consequence of that focus.”
